Electric Consumer

Privacy

Electric Consumer does not ask for an account, show ads or sell data. This page says what happens to information when you use the site.

What stays in your browser

The bill calculators, the ZIP code lookup and the charts run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us. The site stores two settings in your browser: your light or dark theme and your analytics choice.

What our server records

Our web server keeps standard access logs: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser name. We use them to keep the site running and to spot abuse. We do not combine them with other data to identify visitors.

Cookies, analytics and third parties

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and receives your IP address, browser and the pages you open. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalization are switched off, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising. Analytics is not loaded on pages marked noindex. The site shows no ads and has no accounts.

Your choice: a banner asks you to accept or decline analytics. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a decline. Visitors in Europe, the UK and Switzerland are opted out until they accept. Change your mind at any time with the "analytics choices" link in the page footer, or delete the cookies in your browser. Google handles the data under its privacy policy; you can also use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Fonts are served from our own address.

Forms

No form on the site sends information to us. The price-alert form is switched off and stores nothing.

Email

If you write to us, we use your message and address only to answer you and, if it is a correction, to log the fix without your name.

Children

The site is general reference material and is not aimed at children.
