For nonpayment a Florida electric utility must first make a diligent attempt to get compliance, including at least 5 working days' separate written notice, and the notice must give the PSC complaint number. No disconnection for non-commercial customers from Friday noon to Monday 8 a.m. or around listed holidays. Medically essential service is left to a utility tariff procedure. Who is protectedSubsection (11): each utility must file, as a tariff item, a procedure for discontinuing service that is medically essential. No days of postponement are stated in the rule itself. Subsection (10): no discontinuance for non-commercial customers from noon Friday to 8 a.m. Monday, or from noon the day before a holiday (New Year's, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) to 8 a.m. the next working day, except customer request, hazard, tampering, fraud. Customer may designate a third party to get a copy of the delinquency notice.
