Questions

Which state has the biggest power plant pipeline compared with what it runs today?

Wyoming: 7,049 MW planned against 11,825 MW operating, 60%.

Which state has the most planned megawatts?

Texas: 92,564 MW.

How much capacity is planned in the whole U.S.?

280,971 MW against 1,318,784 MW operating in the 50 states and DC, 21%.

How much of it is under construction?

96,849 MW, 34% of the planned list, is under construction or in testing.

Does a big pipeline mean lower prices?

Not by itself. Projects can slip or be canceled, and prices depend on fuel, grid costs and demand. This page counts projects, not price effects.

Will the pipeline ranking change?

Yes. EIA revises the monthly inventory as projects move, so ranks shift from edition to edition.
